What If and Other Stuff Managers Try to Figure Out

Here is the concept, life is unscripted, you have a job to do and what if this happens?

Have you ever tried to speak to something or been involved in something and realized “yeah, this is not me and I am not being true to who I am?”  This has been the last blog series on communication.  While I understand communication and can provide some insight, you can also find this information at Barnes and Noble.  What has made my business is the aspect of “what if” and improvisational learning.  I like to use the term asymmetrical learning or non-linear learning as what or how I am different.

I have said that already.  So here is the new series.  I will take commonly asked questions by managers and provide a “what if” proposal and then some ideas to action.  My genre will stay the same, retail.  My influence will move to a different angle.  I am excited.

These are examples of what to expect.

You are a manager of a team and your best performer is five minutes late, how should you respond?

You are in the third week of selling, everyone is down in their numbers or objectives, what do you say and do?

Someone has a personal hygiene issue, how does that play out?

You provide a new direction and insight, what happens next?

Are you with me?  The idea of “what if” is what I do with my clients.  It is what brands me, if you will.  The communication series was an effort to show I have ideas, and while I do have ideas and tips for anyone interested, it is not what makes a difference.  Content and curriculum is what is it.  You can get it anywhere.  What makes it compelling?  It is compelling when it becomes relevant for what you need it for.  That is what I do.

So hang on, I am jazzed and it could be a bumpy ride!

Cheers
