About

Create partners with companies to produce sustainable results by developing people and process.

Do you remember your first day as manager? At what point did you realize that you didn’t know what you didn’t know? We help with that realization and the growth that occurs afterwards. Whether it is a face-to-face workshop, speech, curriculum development or train the trainer, we strive to keep it real and interactive. We believe in the experiential learning model focusing on self-discovery.

Why Create?

We have worked with businesses of all sizes, internationally, nationally, regionally and locally. This has given us perspective. It has provided us with knowledge of what has worked when implementing change and measuring adoption. It has blessed us with relationships.

We focus on systems. Systems of efficiencies. Systems of accountability. Systems of success. Our goal is always to create the bridge between process and people. This is the challenge…when implementation bridges into adoption. By knowing and exploring adult learning and behavior, we become a source for growth.

Why you and your organization?

It depends.

Every learning objective will vary by client. Because every metric needing to be improved or behavior needing definition (or simply every “itch needing to be scratched”) will vary by client.

While many training organizations sell “training in a box”, Create strives to build a more customized approach. We establish a relationship first, then figure out the “it”. The goals will always be to engage the learner, define the desired behavior or outcome and then provide the tools necessary to get there.

For instance, when a prospective client asks me to provide a “coaching” program, we start with questions…a lot of questions. We reach for a relationship first, and that comes from engaging the team’s point of view. The next steps can range from the simple coffee chats to interviews, assessments, research, and bridging what we have found work in like-organizations.  This moves into designing and developing the “Let’s be Real” client learning experience. Delivery and deployment varies on the best way to share the message.  The result is a more relevant, customized program based on the best way to engage the learner with client’s desired outcome as the goal.

Our Purpose

Why do we do what we do?

Simply put, we define process and develop People.

Create engages businesses who are looking to grow. We represent a source for identifying efficiencies and driving performance through the energies of their teams.

Our vision is to take inspiration from the two most critical elements in a learning and development project; the link between objective (content and company culture) and outcome (learner and actionable behavior).

The benefit of this vision influences buy-in, relevance and sustainability. We avoid the tendency to give you “training in a box.” We strive to create relationships with clients first, then to create programs impacting efficiency and productivity. Ultimately, we strive to create clarity for every learner’s question, “OK, so what is it exactly you want me to do tomorrow?”

All aspects of the learning experience will be based on our guiding principles:

aspens

Keep it SIMPLE
Provoke their ATTENTION
Help them to CARE
Have them REMEMBER
Get them to ACT

Our core values are… Faith, Family, Authenticity, Sincerity, Honesty, Integrity, Humility, Openness, Willingness and Servant Leadership.

Philosophy

We have realized the friction between content and learning.

We have provided huge manuals of information. Feedback from learners has consistently expressed how interaction and self-discovery promote a greater impact.  Therefore, the objective will always be how to balance a flow of information with the interactive experience everyone loves.

This is specifically why our format promotes more interaction, more discussion, more problem solving and fewer words.  We have very purposefully made the content support the engagement.

Specific and targeted follow-up activities after the training have shown greater retention and adoption. This is now an increasingly more important aspect of the learning experience.

We believe in…

Experiential Learning…provoking self-discovery

Let’s Be Real…encouraging an honest and open point of view

What if…challenging the unscripted, improvisational nature of the job

Adoption…promoting a healthy journey from knowing to doing

When you face a business issue or opportunity, do not think event, think behavior.

“We all know what to do.
We just don’t always do what we know.
Sometimes it takes someone else to provoke that.”

I am an author, consultant, trainer and teacher of managers.  I thoroughly enjoy provoking, sharing, enabling, encouraging, stimulating and influencing the intention and decisions managers live out in their job of getting things done through others.  I explore what challenges managers and leaders and then work towards a learning path to define best practices and amplify current skill sets.

I have over 20 years of learning, development and training experience within retail, wholesale, telecom, hospitality and manufacturing.  This has included a variety of activities including live facilitation, consultation, speeches, curriculum design and merely a friend lending insight.

Prior to Create, I helped grow Planet Management, held the post of Senior Trainer and Consultant for The Friedman Group and was an Implementation Director for The Yacobian Group. I also had the pleasure of working with the Wholesale and Retail divisions for Polo Ralph Lauren. Ultimately, I rest my credentials on having had the pleasure and good fortune to work with large, medium and small-sized organizations in North America and Europe providing training and consulting.  I have gained as much as I have given.  I believe in the always-learning mindset that there is always something new to learn, even in the most unlikely of places.  Everyone is capable of learning, growing and changing!

When asked, what gives you your energy? Simple, I love what I do. I am passionate about teaching and growing others. My personal motto is…

“Do what you love with a passion for growing others and your reward will follow.”
